Program Details
Located in Austin, Texas, Independent Identity's target population are adults who are 18+ requiring higher levels of support -- we are an therapeutic day program that seeks to help adults with IDD to continue building skills and competencies that might open doors to less restrictive adult services and opportunities. Clients may have not yet had access to other programs due to the high level of care required or challenging behaviors. Clients at Independent Identity work on a variety of skills such as increasing communication, vocational skills, and social skills and decreasing challenging behaviors or other barriers. Our program is center and community based.

Private Pay:
Full Time - $2,400/mo
Part Time Slots will incur a monthly $150 administrative fee
Tues/Thurs days/wk - $960/mo
M/W/F days/wk - $1440/mo
Half day - $1200/mo
Texas Medicaid Waiver Slots will incur a monthly ABA service fee.
Full time: $1400/mo
Tues/Thurs days/wk - $560
M/W/F days/wk - $840
Half days - $700
This monthly fee is essential to sustaining the high-quality, individualized care we provide and support our highly trained and dedicated staff, who consistently go above and beyond state requirements to ensure meaningful progress and support for your loved one.
It covers Small Group Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy: Conducted by apprentice analysts under the supervision of a BCBA, this service is billed directly to families. While equivalent in structure and clinical rigor to the group ABA therapy defined by insurance CPT code 97154, it is not covered by Texas Medicaid Waiver, therefore it is invoiced directly to the family for private pay. The inclusion of this clinical ABA component is what enables us to safely and effectively support clients with challenging behaviors through structured, evidence-based interventions.

During this call family can learn more about the program, ask questions, and discover if your loved one is a good fit for the program. If it is agreed by staff and family that Independent Identity is a match for the client, a full application will be sent to the family.
Completion of an application or phone screening does not guarantee placement at Independent Identity.
Independent Identity does not take insurance.
We are able to utilize HCS waiver funds to partially cover expenses. There is currently a waitlist to utilize this funding source to attend Independent Identity.
Clients are arranged into small groups with a staff to client ratio of no more than 1:4. As progress is made, ratios are increased to promote independence and generalization.
